My name is Luca, I am a photographer, videographer, and adventurer from New York State, and my primary goal in this website is to showcase forgotten history left to the elements. I am twenty years old, and I have been intruged by abandoned buildings since I was a preteen. At around 15 years old, I discovered some abandoned resorts in the Catskills of NY, and this instantly sparked my interest in forgotten buildings and seeing how human built structures decay overtime after abandonedment. Eventually, I discovered the many abandoned state hospital facilities around my area, and have sought out to photograph all aspects of as many as possible. Now, I've been able to travel a lot, and photograph many historic, and abandoned locations built for different uses, such as hospitals, power plants, industrial buildings, schools, theaters, etc. Every abandoned property I visit has been left in a different condition, and has decayed differently overtime depending on when it was abandoned, depending on its location, structural stabilization, and human traffic. I am thankful to find myself with a lot of free time, and I spend a majority of my time traveling and fulfilling my passion of documenting abandoned places and I showcase these places in the way in which I see them with my own eyes. Growing my interest in abandoned buildings led to my growing of interest in photography, which then led to my interest in photographing nature, and everyday things which I am currently working on building albums for. Overall, I want to capture things that many people overlook nowadays, and I want to be a reminder to appreciate the hidden, beautiful things around you.
Note: As appealing as abandoned properties may be, visiting them without permission is trespassing, and the buildings can be very unsafe and hazardous. The albums listed with an asterisk in the name are alias names for the property which I created to mask the identification of the location.
